Connect with the School
  • Help the teacher get to know your child. During the first week of school, tell the teacher about your child as a person-her likes and dislikes, strengths and weakness, general personality traits, and your vision for your child in the future. The more the teacher knows your child as a person, the better she can address your child’s specific situation.

  • Keep the teacher informed about your child, including recent assessments, medical information, family situations-in other words, anything that will have an impact on your child’s performance.

  • Be collaborative. Look at this as a partnership, with the goal being to have your son/daughter succeed at education.

  • Communicate, communicate, communicate. Whether it’s by email, phone, notes, or in person, our parent advisors make an ongoing effort to stay in touch with their children’s teachers.
