Bennet-Cheney Renovation

About the Bennet-Cheney Renovation

The former Cheney Brothers technical school, built in 1926, is one of a series of brick buildings on the north side of School Street left untouched during the two-year renovation of Bennet that began in 2006. Plans call for connecting it with the Bennet complex across the street with an elevated walkway and moving all of the town’s fifth-graders into the renovated building. The new academy complex would house up to 900 students total and share Bennet’s facilities, such as the existing cafeteria.
